3 Simple Ways to Improve your Nutrition

Good nutrition is one of the keys to a healthy life. Here are three simple ways to improve your nutrition for your health and wellbeing contributed from Mellöbarre Collins Square.

Eat Food, Not Products

Transitioning from eating processed foods to whole foods is one way to rejuvenate and heal your body from the inside out. Providing you with more energy, better skin, vitality and the list goes on.

Whole foods are foods that are as close to their original form as possible, such as fresh fruits and vegetables. These foods are naturally nutrient dense and full of vitamins, minerals, fibre and macronutrients.

Tip - A simple way to assess if a food is processed or whole food is ask yourself, “did this come out of the ground or directly from nature?” If the answer is ‘yes’ then you are on the right track – it will most likely be a whole food.

Eat the Rainbow

To optimize your health, it’s super important to eat fresh foods of various colours every day. If you shoot for 1-2 servings of different coloured vegetables every day (the darker the better), by the end of the week you may just be closer to 30 different types then you ever thought possible!

Tip - Each week aim for 1-2 servings of a different coloured whole foods every day!

Drink more water

The adult human body is 55% to 60% water. Water balances our blood sugar by helping to decrease cravings and increase energy. It helps flush out and rid the body of nasty toxins and waste. Creating space to carry nutrients to your cells.

Tip - Keep a large water jug at your desk with fresh mint, cucumber or lemon. Refill your cup throughout the day to stay hydrated!

Mellöbarre is officially open for appointments only from Monday 9 November.
