Harmony Week is the celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds.

It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.

Read on for 5 ways you can celebrate Harmony Week in your workplace

1. Orange is the new Black! Wear the colour Orange or decorate your workspace to acknowledge the Harmony Week official colour, showing your support for diversity, inclusiveness and demonstrate a sense of belonging

2. Invite a Guest Speaker. Did you know that 49% of Australians were either born overseas or have one parent who was? Inclusivity matters, and what better way to share this message than with an inspirational guest speaker who can showcase diversity and inspire inclusiveness in your work space. Facilitate an online streaming to include your colleagues working from home.

3. Food fest! Invite your colleagues to ‘bring a plate’ that showcases their cultural background. Not only can you connect with colleagues and learn more about their story, but enjoy some delicious food too! This can work well for morning tea, lunch or afternoon tea.

4. Multicultural Trivia. Calling all Quiz Masters… organise a cultural trivia session with your staff. While this takes a bit of research and preparation, the results are worth it! Your team can learn about other cultures from each other, perhaps with some awesome prizes up for grabs!
