National Close The Gap Day

National Close The Gap Day on 21st March

Date: 8th Mar 2024

Supporting the efforts to close the gap is a noble cause that advocates for the health equity of Australia’s indigenous people. National Close the Gap Day, observed on the third Thursday of March, is an opportunity to educate the public about health issues and barriers to well-being.

Since its launch in 2007, National Close the Gap Day has brought people from all over the country together to support and take meaningful action to create better and more equitable health outcomes for First Nations Peoples.

By working in a genuine formal partnership and through shared decision-making with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, we can achieve the goal of closing the gap, overcoming inequality, and achieving life outcomes that are equal to all Australians.

Together, we can support efforts, encourage education, and promote awareness.
